Meet Julia, who decided at twelve

Hi, I am Julia. I am 43, originally from Riga, and I decided to become a hairdresser when I was twelve years old. That was over 30 years ago now.

I work mostly with cutting, colour, structure treatments and extensions. I know extensions in several methods: fusion with keratin bonds, tape-in, and techniques from African hair culture. Five of those years went into bridal hair and evening styling.

Precision matters to me. You should know what you are getting before we start. Outside work I practise reiki, and make collages and mandalas when there is time.

Meet Ranja, the hairdresser who also trained in skin

Hi, I am Ranja Terese. I am 29, born and raised in Glomfjord, and I have worked with hair since 2014. I finished my trade certificate in 2019, with two spells of maternity leave along the way.

Colour theory is what I find most interesting. I happily work with colour and chemical treatments, and otherwise with extensions, lashes and brows. In 2025 I qualified as a dermal therapist at Senzie Akademiet in Oslo, and on the skin side chemical peels and La Fontaine are what I enjoy most.

At home I am a mother of four, so life moves fast. What matters most to me is that you feel safe in the chair, and that we work it out together.

Meet Maja, who took the long way round

Hi, I am Maja. I am a mother of two from Neverdal, where we built a house in 2023 and live with our cat, Nimbus.

The route here took a detour. I started as a hairdressing apprentice in Larvik in 2006, turned back north after a few months, and ended up at the skin and body therapy school in Bodø instead. That is where I met Elisabeth. Alongside my studies I took a nail design course, and nails are what I love most today.

I qualified as a skin and body therapist and nail designer in 2010, and as a hairdresser in 2012. After a few years in salons in Bodø and six months backpacking in Asia, I am back at KosmetiKos part time. Check the booking calendar for when I am in.

Meet Mariell, the nail technician from Glomfjord

Hi, I am Mariell Lillelund and I am 21, from Glomfjord. I am a certified nail technician.

I love being creative and making nails that suit you exactly. Whether you want something simple and natural, or more detailed with design and decoration, we work it out together.

Meet Heidi Merethe, with 25 years in healthcare behind her

Hi, I am Heidi Merethe Pettersen. I am 42 and live in Engavågen with my partner, our dog and our cat.

I trained as a massage therapist in 2003 and ran my own clinic in Tønsberg before bringing that experience here to Meløy. Alongside it I have over 25 years in healthcare as an auxiliary nurse, with further training in cancer care and palliative care. I have also taken courses in hypnotherapy, talk therapy and reiki.

Physical and mental health are closely tied together. Whether you come in with a specific complaint or simply need a break, you should be seen and heard, and get to lie undisturbed in a quiet room.

Meet Elisabeth, who started it all in 2007

Hi, I am Elisabeth. I opened the clinic here in Glomfjord in April 2007, and I have been in the trade for over 35 years. It is still a passion rather than just a job.

I qualified as an authorised foot therapist in 1989, and have since added spa and skin therapy and a string of nail courses. For a period I taught anatomy at the skin therapy school in Bodø and worked as an exam assessor.

After many years in this work you have to listen to your body. Because of my hands I no longer do massage or reflexology, and my full focus is now on skin, feet and nails. On products I have settled on Janssen Cosmetics.

I have a loyal set of regulars, so capacity for brand new regular clients is limited. But there are always a few drop-in slots going.
